August 2025 Product Update

Summer is in full swing, and here at Ditch, we've been focused on refining your boating navigation experience to give you even more confidence on the water. We’re excited to announce our latest app update, which introduces enhancements to your depth data views and underway mode.

This release is all about putting more control and clarity in your hands, giving you the detailed information you need to make confident decisions for every trip.

Clearer View of Depth Data

Our core promise is to leverage real-world data and collective knowledge to give you the optimal route, every time. A key part of that is providing you with the most accurate and useful depth information available. With this update, we've introduced two new features that change how you interact with our Army Corps of Engineers depth data:

Tap for Exact Survey Date

For even more precision, you can now tap directly on any depth layer on the Ditch chart to see the exact date that survey was completed. This gives you an extra layer of confidence, allowing you to fully understand the data you're relying on.

Filter by Survey Date

You can now use a new slider in the layers menu to filter by the most recent survey data. Please note, the Army Corps of Engineers doesn't survey every area every month. If no data appears for your selected time period, it simply means a recent survey hasn't been conducted—not that anything is missing.

A More Streamlined Underway Mode

We've made a number of key improvements to our Underway Mode. The interface is now cleaner, less cluttered, and more intuitive, so you can focus on what matters most—your journey.

When you first plan a route, you'll see details like journey length and duration. These are also always accessible in the 'My Routes' menu. And when you're ready to get underway, Ditch will automatically detect your motion and transition into Underway Mode, providing you with more accurate location and heading lines. This makes Ditch the ideal companion for confident navigation.
