Autumn Upgrades

Ditch just got a little upgrade, many items of which came from feedback we’ve received, so thank you to everyone who has taken the time to tell us what you want added to enhance your marine navigation.

Here's a rundown of what's new in our boating app:

Boat Navigation with Heading Line Overlay

Always know your heading. We've added a heading line that displays directly on the chart when you’re underway, providing a constant visual indicator of your vessel's direction.

Track Your Route with Vessel Tracks on Charts

Ditch now displays your vessel tracks as "breadcrumbs" on the chart, allowing you to visualize the route you’ve taken.

GPX Import/Export

With the new GPX import/export feature, you can bring in routes from other planning software or share your Ditch Smart Paths with other navigation systems.   Keep in mind that every system handles GPX imports a little differently, so the exact process might vary depending on your setup.

Refined Chart and Interface

We've made it easier for you to customize the chart, moving the historical AIS data layer functions to just two taps. We've also refreshed the chart with subtle color changes for improved clarity and readability.

How to customize your AIS view

  1. Tap on layers icon

  2. Select AIS Vessel Information

  3. Customize to the boat length, recency and local/non local data to what you want to view

Your chart will change directly as you change each input.

Continuous Improvement Remains A Focus

At Ditch, we're committed to ongoing improvement.

We value your feedback and encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions with us. Contact our founders, Peter and Owen, directly or email us at info@ditchnavigation.com.
